The regular Chinese lessons are designed for learners who wish to receive a systematic Chinese training in listening, speaking, reading and writing. It is suitable for any student, from the total beginner to the highest level.

Our regular Chinese lessons are split into nine different levels.

This is the beginning level for people who are new to regular Chinese, with limited or no knowledge of the language, Chinese characters, or pinyin. Students at this level who have prior knowledge of regular Chinese may have difficulty answering simple questions in Chinese and/or have a very limited vocabulary.

Students who begin at Level 1 will study Chinese pronunciation. Their regular Chinese lessons will also teach them how to greet others in Chinese, introduce themselves, order food at a restaurant, bargain in Chinese, and more.

This is the level for people learning regular Chinese who can engage in basic conversation but cannot do so without paraphrasing or using repetition at a slower rate. Students at this level can ask and answer simple questions regarding well-known topics, and can comprehend very basic, short texts one phrase at a time.

Students who begin at Level 2 will learn the basics of writing Chinese characters, if this skill is not already present. They will also learn how to communicate in regular Chinese when exchanging money, introducing friends and family, purchasing tickets, and asking for the time or directions.

This is the level for people learning regular Chinese who are able to communicate their needs, as long as the person they are speaking to speaks slowly and clearly articulates their words. Students at this level have learned to answer and ask questions about familiar topics, as well as talk about their ideas and share information about these topics in daily life.

Students who begin at Level 3 will learn regular Chinese online by reading several short essays and, if needed, their regular Chinese lessons will include increasing their knowledge of Chinese characters. They will focus on learning how to understand and speak about sports, hobbies, travel plans, likes and dislikes, and more in regular Chinese.

This is the intermediate level for people learning regular Chinese who are familiar with the main aspects of clear, standard speech on familiar topics.

Students who begin at Level 4 will learn to communicate their work routines, lifestyle, and more. In addition, their regular Chinese lessons will teach them vocabulary-building methods to increase their understanding of Chinese.

This is the level for people learning Chinese who are able to confidently communicate both routine and non-routine matters they are familiar with that are connected to their profession and interests. Students at this level have learned to exchange, check and confirm information, though there are usually some mistakes and/or pauses. Additionally, people at this level are able to read and satisfactorily comprehend straightforward factual texts on topics related to their interests.

Students who begin at Level 5 will be taught intermediate subjects in their regular Chinese lessons online, and will read articles that cover a wide range of topics that are routine and non-routine.

This is the level for people learning regular Chinese who are able to effectively interact with native Chinese speakers with ease and spontaneity. They are skilled enough to read independently and have a solid reading vocabulary, but may stumble when presented with idioms that are not frequently used.

Students at this level will be taught via online regular Chinese lessons to tell stories, share their experiences in detail, talk about their ambitions and events that have happened, and accurately describe reactions and feelings.

This is the level for people learning regular Chinese who can effectively and accurate communicate in Chinese on a broad range of topics. They are able to communicate spontaneously, using good grammar, and have little restriction on what they are able to say. However, people at this level may be hesitant when trying to recall certain expressions and speech patterns. They can read and gather information from longer texts without difficulty.

Students at this level will increase their understanding of advanced topics as they learn regular Chinese online. They will also become familiar with implicit meanings when communicating with native speakers.

This is the level for people learning regular Chinese who can recognize implicit meanings and comprehend a wide range of advanced topics. They are able to fluently and spontaneously express themselves with few interruptions due to trying to recall expressions. People at this level are able to comprehend lengthy, complex texts regardless of the topic, as long as they are able to reread difficult sections.

Students at this level will be taught regular Chinese lessons that address advanced topics, and they will read and discuss articles from the internet, newspapers, and literary novels.

This is the level for people learning regular Chinese who are able to easily understand virtually everything they read or hear in Chinese. They have learned to express themselves fluently, spontaneously, and in precise terms. People at this level are able to understand and critically interpret practically every form of the written language, including structurally complex, abstract, and highly colloquial literary and non-literary texts.

Students at this level will be taught to expand their knowledge of advanced topics that appear in texts and the media. They will learn to differentiate the precise meaning in extremely complex situations, and they will be taught to write lengthy theses to present their research findings.
